Seventeen centuries later, the Roman city  was rediscovered by accident and unearthed almost perfectly preserved, thanks to the absence of air: it is really the most fascinating archaeological site in the world!
• Pompeii is a stunning example of an entire well-preserved Roman city. Three hours of visiting with a real archaeologist will surely be a wonderful experience to remember.
• The crater of Vesuvius is something fascinating and terrifying at the same time. There is almost a lunar atmosphere where little vegetation, except for moss and lichens that can survive at such altitudes. And there, more than anywhere else, we understand the true force of Nature that in a few hours swept away the lives of many thousands of people in Pompeii and Herculaneum two thousand years ago.

By your accommodation or by the terminal exit of the port of Naples, Sorrento or Salerno Your limousine, the  driver and me will wait for you with a sign with your name written on it.

After that you head to Pompeii for a three-hour private tour – just for you – with me, an English-speaking archaeologist.

But after the cultural visit, it will be time to relax with a snack or a pizza.  It is also possible to have a break in a family-run winery at the top of Mount Vesuvius with an amazing view. So you have a great chance to taste the different qualities of the great wine produced there: this extremely fertile land is home to vines that are hundreds of years old.

After that, you will continue to the top of Mount Vesuvius, spending roughly 90 minutes there. You will have the chance to reach the very top of the crater on foot.

Then, back to your cruise ship or your accommodation.
