More Details about this tour:
The meeting with your guide takes place by the Sgambati Bar near Porta Marina Superiore in Pompeii at your best suitable time . In a couple of hours ( however you can also reduce the duration of the tour) you will be able to visit Pompeii’s major sights. Please bear in mind that the entire sight covers 65 hectares (160 acres) and therefore our short tour is only a taster but full of history and wonder. Should you wish to visit other monuments of Pompeii in detail, kindly let us know in advance. Otherwise your private guide will choose the best possible route according to your needs, to the number of visitors and to the excavations taking place at that moment and the number of Roman buildings available to the public.
Plaster Casts
The plaster casts are one of the highlights of Pompeii. The technique was invented by Giuseppe Fiorelli in 1864 and the plaster casts represent men, women and children in their last moments of agony. With simple words, your guide will show you these famous plaster statues that still contain the skeletons inside.
